Hello.
My name is Jane, but I yarnbomb under the name of Queen Babs.
I'm named after my bunny Babs.
Why yarnbombs?
I started out wanting to add colour to the city, make the streets beautiful and make people smile, now I work towards lifting the spirits of my community and the wider community who see and read about my yarn adventures. Sharing my personal challenges with invisible and chronic illness and using craft as a therapy for myself has become part of my day. I use my work to raise awareness, encouraging others, spread kindness and hopefully inspire happiness.
I hope I can continue working towards lifting the spirits of not only my community, but anyone who passes my yarnbombs, receives a lovebomb or sees my photographs around the world. Regardless of personal challenges, even maybe even because of them, I aim to inspire us all to be kinder and happier. Together we can make Australia and the world a better place…one ball of yarn at a time.
I like working with other people and have completed community projects, awareness raising projects, commissioned projects, and community group collaboration projects.
COMMISSION JOBS ARE WELCOME
As well as doing my own projects, I do a few commission jobs per year. Each one is assessed on an individual basis, taking into consideration the length of time given to make pieces, the scale or size of the project, the location, the budget available, availability of yarn, and so on.
As each one is different, please contact me to discuss your ideas further. I'd love to hear what you have in mind.

I rely on donations to create all my pieces and am very appreciative of all who contribute. Should any of my work inspire you to help me continue then I thank you. Together we can create something extraordinary. Scroll down for the contact form or you can donate via GoFundMe or PayPal.
You could say I am addicted to yarnbombing, craft and making people smile. Let's spread the love.

On larger projects I often work with like-minded creative people who just want to get involved by contributing a piece towards a yarnbomb or helping sew them up. I call these wonderful people Yarnbombers United. Thank you to each and everyone. I try to credit each person on Instagram, Facebook or here on the website. More information on the original members is available in the drop down menu under "Queen Babs". Contributors are listed in Get Involved or with Projects or under "Thank You" in the drop down menu under "More".
I share my simple free heart and flower patterns and a have a couple to buy via Ravelry as Queen Babs Sydney or on my website www.yarnbombersunited.weebly.com under PATTERNS. I also have a page of Yarnbombing tips and other tips here for anyone who would like some help.
I have been chronically ill for more than 22 years and have a variety of things including fibromyalgia and depression. I am no expert in anything, but I try to share my ideas and encourage everyone to be the best they can, spread kindness and find happiness. Instagram and Facebook allow me a way to stay connected with other people when I am mostly housebound.
I share quite a lot of honest and heartfelt thoughts and always appreciate yours too. People come and go and it is lovely that so many stay and chat so I get to know you. I may not reply to every thing, but you are appreciated and I hope you will feel welcome here.
